A walk through the city...
A late lunch in the old town (Subway for the boys who are very proud that
they can now order for themselves and have someone understand them! and a
wonderful spinach salad with blue cheese and frombois dressing for moi) and
then a nice walk in the sunshine to find the underground mall. We are now quite adept at navigating and interacting with the traffic... Plenty of old architecture to see as well as a
more European take on the common such as McDonalds. Being predominantly French
it was an ongoing game to see what words and signs we could translate!
We ended up meandering through Chinatown and then, as is bound to happen when you are simply following a map with only street names to inform your decisions, we ended up slap bang in the middle of the ‘slightly seedy’ part of town and were suddenly surrounded by adult shows and stores… luckily a quick-step and a block or two found us in the midst of restaurants and galleries… much better! Eventually we stumbled on the underground mall although as it was very late we simply had time to note where it was so that we could return tomorrow.
