Starbucks… apple-picking... playground… Chipotle… and… Yoghurtland…
We started the day with an obligatory stop for hot chocolates, coffee and
frappe’s from Starbucks and then drove a little way out of town to Littletree
Orchards where we wandered up a few of the rows of the in-season apple trees,
sampling crisp, dripping, sweet delectable apples straight from the trees and
gathering bagfuls to take home. We also stumbled across a pumpkin patch in the
middle of the orchards, alongside the brussel sprout plants. For the adults,
the act of roaming through an orchard reminded us of one of the last things we
did before we left St Louis
8 years ago when we took our families on a peach picking expedition…
On our way home we put in a stop at a local schools’ playground for the kids to let off some steam before heading to Chipotle for our fill of taco’s and burrito’s followed by our first experience of Yoghurtland… what is this I hear you ask, well, it is an awesome place where you can self-serve soft-serve yoghurt flavours ranging from pumpkin pie to caramel pecan (after you have sampled most of them OF COURSE!!).. then top your frozen delight with as many candy and chocolate treats as you can fit. You then pay by weight. This experience was a nice sweet ending to a fantastic catchup with friends. After our farewells it was time for us to make the 5 hour trek north back across the border into Canada and all the way to Ottawa, the capital which will be home for the remainder of the week.
